Growing environmental pressures, resource constraints, regulatory requirements, and stakeholder expectations are reshaping green supply chains. Green supply chain management is moving beyond fragmented sustainability practices and compliance responses toward a more integrated and strategic approach encompassing life-cycle management, low-carbon operations, circular resource use, and coordinated environmental action across supply chain partners. However, the evolutionary pathways of green supply chains may vary across industries, institutional environments, organizational capabilities, stakeholder relationships, and stages of development. Such diversity requires closer examination of how green supply chain strategies emerge, evolve, and adapt over time. Concurrently, digital transformation is changing how green supply chains are designed, managed, and coordinated. Technologies such as artificial intelligence, big data analytics, blockchain, the Internet of Things, and digital twins can enhance supply chain visibility, traceability, forecasting, resource efficiency, and collaborative decision-making. Despite rapid advances in managerial practice, research has yet to fully explain how green supply chain strategies evolve, how digital transformation supports different green supply chain activities, and how these two processes interact and co-evolve over time. This Special Issue seeks to advance theoretical and empirical understanding of the strategic evolution and digital transformation of green supply chains.
